No-one on this thread mentioned Escape from New York. Shocking. Snake Plissken is one of the greatest anti-heroes ever.
And Escape from LA, might be bollocks but it still has one of the best endings ever.

The Day After is regularly shown on one of the shite movie channels, True Movies or one of them. So's the awful remake of On The Beach.

It dropped one of the best one liners of the 80's "I don't give a fuck about your war...or your president!"
