I see Lauren Lavern's section Grazia Magazine recommends her readers to get on board with Villagers now so you feel cool when everyone else catches up.

Think she said they're the new Bon Iver.

That sounds like an exciting thing that might take place in the future. Unlike Bon Iver itself which was a boring thing that happened in the past.

As I said before, Bon Iver is/are grand in the exact same way Coldplay are grand. I enjoyed both of them live and they're both quite dull on record with the occasional exceptional song.
