Mor Festival 2004
Saturday 21 August and Sunday 22 August
Charleville Castle, Tullamore, Co Offaly

------------------------------------------------------------------

* Mor Festival granted temporary radio broadcasting license
* Mor FM hooks up with London's Resonance FM
* Damo Suzuki (former vocalist with Can) added to the bill
* Adem (Domino Records) added to the bill

The Mor Festival has been granted a temporary radio broadcasting license by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland. The license will enable Mor to broadcast shows in the run up to, and during, the weekend of the Festival.

We encourage everyone attending the Festival to bring a portable radio with them so that they can tune in. Mor FM will have a broadcast radius of a couple of miles so you should be able to pick it up as you approach the Tullamore train station!

The Festival has also announced that it is linking up with Resonance FM (http://www.resonancefm.com), London's art radio station, which has been hailed "a glorious experimant that everyone in the country deserves a chance to hear" by The Independent and "the best radio station in London" by The Guardian. Mor FM will broadcast an eclectic range of shows from Resonance as well as original shows from a number of Irish DJs and musicians.

We are also delighted to announce that Damo Suzuki (http://www.damosuzuki.de), former vocalist with the legendary Can, and Adem (http://www.adem.tv) from Domino Records, have joined the bill. This year's international acts also include Philip Jeck, Candie Hank, Silvah Bullet, Debasser and Digitonal.

Irish acts confirmed for the Festival include Donnacha Costello, David Donohoe, Pony Club, God Is an Astronaut, Corrigan, Connect Four Orchestra and Life After Modelling, among many others. Alongside the two main outdoor stages there will be performances in the Gallery Room, which runs the entire width of the Castle.

Other diversions scattered around the Castle grounds will include the Imaginaarium (The Soul Gun Warriors' "interactive space of extreme theatrical possibility") and, catering for Sunday morning's early birds, yoga classes and The Electronic Breakfast.

Mor has quickly emerged as Ireland's leading independent audiovisual festival, combining the programming of independent music and visuals with the physical and cultural restoration of Charleville Castle. It is a truly unique festival, not least because of the sheer number of volunteers and artists involved (over 300 in total), and, whether based in Tullamore or Dublin, all committed to a common vision. Mor 2004 will take place Saturday, August 21st and Sunday, August 22nd.

Tickets, priced 65 euro for the weekend (including camping and booking fee), are on sale now through a limited number of outlets, including Heartbeat City in Tullamore, Kilkenny, Mullingar and Thurles, Tower Recorde/Road Records/Spindizzy/City Discs in Dublin, PlugD In in Cork, Black Spot in Limerick and Redlight Records in Galway.

Further information on the line-up is available at http://www.morfestival.com or by e-mailing [email protected].
