I met john there recently. his mother died and the pub is tied up in legal disputes. hasnt opened in about 5 years.

I always liked John. He was a bit of a prick, but in a way that was likeable and probably essential for where he was.
Took no shit from some of the chancer fucks that would come in.

I always felt he would like to sell it and just fuck off somewhere though.

only way to be given the street it was on. the only other pub that isnt a a knacker filled shithole on parnell st is the hophouse (which incidently john drinks in!)

I still don't have keys, plus have 6 more weeks of work and then another 4 weeks doing a course before I head down. End of April is when I will be knee deep in renovation and probably doing more work than I have ever done in my life.
