Freeview TV without a Dish (1 Viewer)

Not sure if it's any help butI'm not allowed put up a dish either.
I picked up one of the mini travel ones in Aldi. It's small enough to put on the windowsill inside my room and works perfect.

Irish free to air digital tv service is called Saorview. You need a tv with a compatible (mpeg4) digital tuner built in, or a set top box (€99 from power city). Also works from pc dvb tuners.

You get all the Irish tv, & rte radio, but no British or satellite or any fancy stuff.

Reception depends on location / location of antenna in your house.

no

the freeview service is digital & occasionally in HD. regular rabbits ears-sourced tellybox is 100% analogue.

You can use your regular rabbit ears if your TV has MPEG4 freeview capabilities, that's what I'm using here. If your TV is only UK freeview capable then it will pick it up but won't be able to decode the video at all. You'll need the box for that.

yup. depending on what the digital signal is like in your area & the quality of them ears & where they are in the house. it works ok for me upstairs but not down here beside the back window, like.
