Does anyone have any links to good websites/books/etc with easy but tasty recipes on them?

Or have any easy recipes they'd like to put here?

I've got two friends visiting next month, who will be staying with myself and the boyf, and obviously I'm gonna have to cook for them - but I've never cooked for more than my family/boyfriend before...plus one of them is a veggie (not that that is a big issue as I don't eat much meat anyway, but I want to cater for everyone)

I don't want to serve them up horrible meals....so all help or tips greatfully received!!!!

my not so bad fast food dish..... takes 10-12 minutes and the only cooking is the pasta - could take longer if you make your own pesto...

1. cut macaroni pasta with pesto, cubes of feta and chopped green olives stirred in.

2. side salad of chunky tomato and cucumber salad with whatever dressing

3. some chopped lettuce

4. ciabatta for dipping into olive oil. (preferably some of that really nice palestinian stuff)

5. serve with a shed load of fairtrade wine.

1 packet of chicken noodle soup
1 spring onion
1 tablespoon of basmati rice
1 egg

make soup per instructions
add chopped spring onion
and beaten egg and stir
add boiled basmati rice

very yummy , surprisingly so

I thought I'd resurrect this thread, for quick recipe suggestions, or even any 'very few ingredients" recipe's.

Here's one i'm fed up of but is simply yum.

1 butternut squash, chopped up into 1cm pieces, toss in oil salt pepper, whatever herbs you have handy... I just used mixed and it was grand. Roast.

10 mins before roasting is finished throw in one or two crushed garlic cloves. and a good bit of cream.

Mix into pasta, throw in whatever cheeses you have for extra heart attack factor.

With lidl doing butternut squash for 1.49 this is mad cheap.

Wobbler's pork chops (recipe stolen)

Crush up a clove of garlic or two (more if you're a mad bastard like me) with some thyme (or rosemary if that's what you have), lemon juice and enough olive oil to make it sludgey. Season with Salt and Peppah. Smear sludge over chop and leave to marinate for as long as you have (an hour would be good) and then grill.

Way better than the sum of its parts.

Serve with a baked potato and a bag of salad leaves dressed with olive oil and lemon juice.

What would life be without thyme, rosemary, garlic and olive oil?! I'm serious. You can throw 'em on anything - veg, potatoes, meat - and they just make it delicious.

I made gorgeous sweet potato falafels last week, but they take about 2hrs preparation time (cooking and chilling) so they're not really 'fast' food. Really yum though.
