Wow. €30 quid! Good to hear there are still bargains out their. Every time I look in the door of a charity shop I'm always hoping to see a marshall half stalk sitting down the back.

Don't know anything about Jedsons, but made in japan, rosewood fingerboard. Hard to go wrong when putting a telecaster together as far as I know. They all have bolt on necks. There is a cream one of these on ebay for £195 which looks really nice. The sunburst is cool too mind. If the ashtray looking thing can come off the tailpiece I reckon it would look class.

Been relisted. Seems a bit odd having the humbucker in the bridge instead of the neck. Then it is a slightly odd looking guitar.

That tele could be nice, but you'd need to play it. Japanese copies of Fenders and Gibsons tend to go for quite e.g. your Tokai, Greco, but plenty of shit guitars come from Japan too.

That Squire is trying way too hard.

The caretaker in our place gave me an epiphone dot studio the other week. For free like. Doesnt get much more bargainy than that. Have it left round to get set up at the minute. If it plays nice the plan is to change everything in it after a bit of saving. Keeping an eye open for PAF style humbuckers, so if anyone sees any...

Dots are nice, my mate has one and it's a lovely guitar. However about 5-6 years ago they switched the facility that makes them, either from Japan to Korea or the other way around and that has impacted on build quality.

Serial on this one dates it as '04. Should be korean made. Fretboard was a bit dry so I'm hoping the guitar guy makes it all nice, no cracks on it. Been sitting in a cement room for a couple of years by the looks of things.

The studio looks like the most no frills version in the production line. Only one tone knob, one volume knob, non gloss finish. Still, I'll take it. And I might not be that scared to attempt changing the electrics on it myself.

Regular Epiphone's haven't been made in Japan since the mid 90s. It was Korea for ages then moved to China as @Unicron says about 5 years ago. High end Epiphone's (Elistist etc) are still made in Japan, and some factories in Korea still produce Epiphone stuff in limited quantites.

I was on the hunt for a Casino a few years ago and ended up playing quite a few in my search for a decent one. They were mainly
Chinese ones but I did find a few Korean ones too. My general impression was the the fit and finish on the Korean ones was superior, but the pickups in the Chinese ones were miles better. I ended up getting a Korean one and changing the pickups. At the moment I'm thinking of putting a Bigsby on it....

I'm dumb about guitars. There's a Telecaster (squire) in Music Maker at the moment that look a a bit like a Dano. Weird 50s looking pick ups, one switch and a tiny scratchplate. Only €299. I played it on Saturday and by jaysus it has the nicest neck I've played in years (mind you I've only played about 5 guitars in that long). I didn't have time to plug it in but I got the impression that it would not be suitable for the music I play. Pity. Does anyone know it? Does anyone know anything about it?

Yeah, they're great. Its like a Fender meets Gretsch. Those pickups are Fideltrons. They were only Custom Shop for a few years. Silly money. I was talking to Jimi from Jimis music store recently, and he was saying he has no idea how Fender/Squire are making guitars as good as those Cabronita's and the Vintage Modified offsets at those price points.

Awesome. Everything I've read about them has been positive. Can't wait to get it back now. I'm not expecting a 2 grand guitar, but add a bit of delay and posing in front of a full length mirror and I should be laughing. It's a dark 'woody' finish that fades to pretty much black. Ain't bad looking.

Only I just got both mine fixed,and have just today left a guitar in for a refret,I'd probably have bought it. But I'm good for now.

I doubt very much it would still be around when I have the money again.

I wish someone would buy this because I am trying to save for blackstar HT40 club vintage, but I can only imagine the sweet 80s marshall tones you'd get from this thing.
