Archiving files from old Win98 SE desktops (1 Viewer)

I have a few old Win98 SE desktops that I need to take files off but when i insert a usb key they look to install drivers for it...

Any suggestions?

Can you not burn CD's off it? Other than that does the computer have a network card?

Take out the hard drives and attach to another machine.

can't burn cds off it. i used to use an external cd burner but i don;t have it anymore.

i installed the drivers for the specific usb key but it's coming back with errors and the pc still doesn't recognise it.

if i took the hard drive out could i attach it to a newer machine running XP?

You can if you have a spare slot in the other machine, or if you can get hold of an enclosure for it.

Your Win98 machine is probably usb1 and the usb key usb2.
AFAIK win98 has no drivers for usb2.
