I am listening to the Arlt & Thomas Bonvalet album that came out this year. It's super good but basically sounds exactly like an Arlt album with a recording of someone falling down a stairs stuck on top of each song.

Bitchin' Bajas - Bitchin' Bajas
Bitchin Bajas is largely comprised of long journeys. 18-minute opener “Tilang” could exist as a single release on its own, progressing from mournful Stars of the Lid-like strings to rippling organs, whistling flutes, and harp-like glissandos.

liking this. Standard enough DFA fare which I reckon is a good thing.

WAND - Ganglion Reef (album stream)

This is the debut full-length release from the Los Angeles-based quartet, which was signed by Ty Segall to his Drag City imprint, GOD? Records, and should appeal to fans of Tame Impala. Admiring the "psychedelic stomp" of recent single "Broken Candle", music blog Austin Town Hall goes on the describe the album like this: "Ganglion Reef has a great deal of fuzzy elements to it but they walk this fine line between being noisy and radio-friendly."

sampled some more of this album based on this tune. fucking excellent. copy ordered and arrived last week. getting numerous spins since. belter of an album

What's the deal with him? People are mad for him but I don't really get it. It's not bad but it doesn't stand out for me...

anyway, I know it's not 2002 anymore but the Against Me! album that came out this year is actually pretty great

I saw him play at Primavera this year and without knowing a whole lot of his stuff it was a hell of a show. A live band at a hip hop gig makes a big difference.

Yeah I saw him at it as well and wasn't blown away. The band were competent and all but... meh. Crowd were going mad at it though, no doubt about it.

On the plus side I got offered drugs 3 times during his set.

On average I was offered them that many times on the way from the metro to the festival. They're mad for selling drugs there.
