Electricity (1 Viewer)

but there's already a 'refrigeration' category with consumption identified? maybe it's the new fridge with different draw and it's not able to deal with two different fridges at different times.

to answer my own question:
"Each appliance uses electricity in a unique manner, think of it like an appliance fingerprint. Using our algorithms we detect and extract these fingerprints from your electricity usage data and convert this into useful insights and recommendations for you."

Measures amerpage draw V time per circuit and costs to database and has a guess

pah. you don't get that granular info just from getting a smart meter - you've to also then move to a smart meter plan with your supplier.

So you’ve to sign up for a plan before you can get access to the data that’s going to tell you what the best plan is for you?

just got a mail, my smart meter has gone live which prompted this.

Additional new features
The data from your smart meter unlocks more ways to control and reduce your electricity usage.
  • Personalised electricity insights
  • Tracking usage across appliances
  • More time-of-use price plans available
  • Advice to lower your bills
  • Monthly billing on the date of your choice

You need to move to a smart meter plan to access these features.

Id have thought you could still get the raw consumption/production data out of it.

funny thing is, my father was showing me the data he sees - and it's quite comprehensive - and he's still on a 'legacy' plan. so either they started providing the data to him in error, or they're lying to me.

anyway, i assume there's some sort of adapter which you can plug into a socket, and plug your appliance into that, which will show instantaneous and cumulative energy use? i used to have something like that for the whole house, but it'd be good to have one which can track just that one device, without referring to a smartphone app to read.
