The only things I can think of that are always on are my work laptop and monitors on standby, my PC on standby, and the TV on standby

I was thinking the switch for the fridge light could be also for a wildly annoying sound alarm. I used to be awful for this, like I was watching tele or something.

pah. you don't get that granular info just from getting a smart meter - you've to also then move to a smart meter plan with your supplier.

Id have thought you could still get the raw consumption/production data out of it.

funny thing is, my father was showing me the data he sees - and it's quite comprehensive - and he's still on a 'legacy' plan. so either they started providing the data to him in error, or they're lying to me.

anyway, i assume there's some sort of adapter which you can plug into a socket, and plug your appliance into that, which will show instantaneous and cumulative energy use? i used to have something like that for the whole house, but it'd be good to have one which can track just that one device, without referring to a smartphone app to read.

Yeah I have one of those - it's this one but i definitely paid less for it online
