What's yr favorite film soundtrack? (1 Viewer)

another vote for the works of:
michael nyman,
antonio badalamenti and
ennio morricone

and eh - has anyone mentioned 'requiem for a dream'?
whatever you say about the film, the soundtrack is deadly (and done by one clint mansell of PWEI fame).

wisconsin death trip: http://www.wisconsindeathtrip.com/

the necks' soundtrack for the boys

hal hartley's scores (writes most of them himself, including the back rock songs)

gene hackman's sax playing on the soundtrack to the conversation. apparently learnt to play sax for the role.

I've never bought a film soundtrack

film soundtracks can go and have their shite

that reminds me, I'll have your Commitments album for you at the gig

sorry for holding on to it for so long

You were right! That andrew strong beats the hell out of wilson pickett!

lock stock and two smoking barrels soundtrack is deadly (except the robbie williams track...)

score-wise, i think bernard hermann is great

Night At The Roxbury. The soundtrack oozes class and has this as the jewel in the crown:

Haddaway - "What is Love".

Don't act like you don't agree with me, we all know the truth here.

Ay, that's true. All the early ones under the name Ned Rifle. 'Simple Men' score stands out for me - that sharp guitar in the opening credits.
Great film too - there's nothing but trouble in desire.

Score for his last film too, he did himself, 'the girl from monday'. Also good, more electronics if memory serves me.

His new film(yet to be released), while I'm here is a sequel to 'Henry Fool' and centres around the Parker Posey character. Jeff Goldblum is in it. Which is strange.

i saw your man from henry fool in ny a few years ago.
the long greasy haired guy. he actually looked like he was still in character.
great movie.

Thomas Jay Ryan. He played Joel Barish's neighbour in Eternal Sunshine. He didn't seem so threatening then.

Joel Barish is on thumped. fuck me.

thanks for the heads-up.

Not sure about overall but in last few years:

The Royal Tenenbaums
Donnie Darko
The Squid and the Whale
All the LOTR film soundtracks

and particularly these two:

My Summer of Love
Perfume
