the official launch of the new bastard rain single 'john the revelator/petronella de mede' (available as a free download on www.drunkenlustrecords.com) takes place on fri 8th may in toners baggot st at 9pm.

the bastard rain have recieved praise, abuse, and indifference in equal ammounts over the past two years. their highly entertaining live shows generally feature swearing, staring and maraccas. They are releasing their debut ablum, entitled 'of stolen birds' later this month on drunken lust records.

support on the night is from a two man incarnation of local folk-rock legends spook of the thirtheenth lock, while george worrall will also be lending his unique country blues sounds to the fray.

as fate has decreed that it looks like we'll be unable to have a dublin album launch, this'll effectively be a double whammy!

i was in toners last week and it was tiny. is there and up or downstairs section with a stage yeah?

upstairs, we will be performing in the round.

approximate running order-
900 doors
915 george worral
1010 spooks
1110 bastards

copies of the bastard rain 'of stolen birds' will be available for a mere 10 euros - approximating at 91c per song.

Well done Bastard Rains..great gig, great album.pity about the chatterboxes behind me and various other thumpeders but still and all, fantastic stuff.

You still on for some wedding crashing Squiggle?

Hadn't been to a gig in Toners before, nice little venue, with a room at the back for people to sit and chat in if they're so inclined (as I pointed out to the aforementioned chatterboxes at one stage).

Fantastic stuff Bastard Rain, listening to the album now. The Spook of the six-and-a-halfth lock were a treat. Well done everyone.

Edit: totally on for a bit of wedding crashing Rach, it sounded like it's going to be OMG, like, todally fabulous!! We can stand/sit right up the front and chat about gigs to our heart's content.

hey, general query about the gig...

there were three dudes, mid 40s came up half way through the gig, all had longish dark coats, one was balding(americian), the other had a beard and a fairly fancy camera (pos. french), and I wasnt sure who the other one was.

anyone know who they were/have a contact for them??
