The Spatial Music Collective (all ex-MMT) presents the NEW DUBLIN VOICES (conductor Bernie Sherlock) in a concert of specially commissioned Choral Works. Some of the pieces are for voices and electronics, some just for voices, but all of them will use the three dimensions of the space of Trinity's Chapel, and movement through it, as a musical element of the compositions themselves.

New Works by Enda Bates, Linda Buckley, Michael Fleming, Daniel Jacobson, Ian McDonnell and Jonathan Nangle.

Wednesday 30th January 2008, 8pm, TRINITY COLLEGE CHAPEL.
Tickets €10/€8 conc. See website for details www.spatialmc.net

New Dublin Voices ( www.newdublinvoices.net)

New Dublin Voices is a dynamic young chamber choir founded by well-known conductor Bernie Sherlock in October 2005. In its first two years it has given many concerts in venues including The National Concert Hall, The Waterfront Hall and St. George's Church Belfast, the National Gallery of Ireland, Draíocht in Blanchardstown, Solstice in Navan, St. Ann's Dawson Street, Trinity College Chapel, and the Hungarian Embassy.

In the same period the choir has participated in a number of competitions. Their many awards include National Choir of the Festival Cork 2006, National Choir of the Year Navan 2006, both mixed choir competitions at the Feis Ceoil in both 2006 and 2007 (including the inaugural Ite O'Donovan Award of €1000), the Schutz Trophy in the Fleischmann International Competition in Cork 2007, and three first prizes in Navan 2007.

The choir performs a wide variety of choral music from the middle ages to the contemporary. The 20 or so singers who make up New Dublin Voices are drawn from many backgrounds but all share high levels of experience and musicianship, and above all a love of performing excellent choral music.

The Spatial Music Collective (www.spatialmc.net)

The SpatialMC was formed in 2006 by a group of like-minded Dublin-based composers to support and facilitate in the recording and performance of spatial music. Our primary focus is on electronica and electro-acoustic music utilising varying numbers of speakers and incorporating more advanced surround sound techniques such as ambisonics and wavefield synthesis.
To date the group has given a number of successful concerts in various venues around the city. 2008 marks a further step in the evolution of the group with collaborations between the SpatialMC and various ensembles (New Dublin Voices, Bridgewood String Quartet and the Dublin Guitar Quartet).
