Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds have stepped down from their posts after Renault decided not to dispute allegations that the team ordered former driver Nelson Piquet Junior to crash deliberately at last year's Singapore grand prix.

alonso - piquet's team mate - needed a safety car in that race for their race tactics to work. so they ordered piquet to crash on one of the straights were his car would remain on the track, thus necessitating the safety car.

renault have left themselves wide open to a suit from ferrari - massa was leading the race at the time the safety car came on, and ended up finishing 13th.

Ecclestone doesn't give a damn about QPR and it doesn't sound like himself and Briatore are getting on too well these days.
