SATYRIX
LOMELINDI
QUEEN KONG
&
Guest DJs from 8 til well late
CRAWDADDY – SATURDAY BANK HOLIDAY - JUNE 3rd
Tickets €8 before 11pm & €10 after
POD Concerts and No MORe presents a bank holiday trilogy of fresh acts emerging in the Irish music scene.
Headliners SATYRIK are Ireland’s substantially better answer to Goldie Looking Chain. Rap attacks have never sounded this good and their ninja skater video ‘Reclaimed Land’ is currently doing the business on the Channel 6 Night Shift. In their own words they are “De Bleerin Business, ye Know war I mean like. Deadly yeah. Bling Bling an all dat."
LOMELINDI are a Dublin-based duo comprising Laura Kilty and Ian McDonnell. Laura is a vocalist trained in both classical and jazz. Ian is currently studying for a Masters in Music and Media Technology at Trinity, and also plays in electronic duo Lakker. Both have equal input into the composition of their music which is a mix of vocal lines from all genres, electronic beats and instruments, all put in the form of pop/rock-style songs. Their influences are many but include Tool, Aphex Twin, Bjork, Ella Fitzgerald, Timbaland, Luciano Berio and Arvo Part.
QUEEN KONG are athree piece synth pop band was formed with deconstruction on its mind. Pop fans are forced to confront insanely heavy guitars. Metal "people" experience vocal harmonies and actual songs, often for the first time in their lives. Kraftwerk with guitars? Ministry with vocoders? NIN meets Mike Patton? No. The real answer could be closer than you think: Queen Kong.
