About the record.
'Nothing Good Gets Away' was recorded in an assortment of studios and spaces throughout 2013. Drums and bass were done in K9 Studio with Shane Cullen, while guitars were self recorded under the arches of the railway line from Dublin to Sligo. Vocals were recorded by John Murphy next door to our space at his Guerilla Studios.

Jesse Gander (Japandroids,White Lung) mixed it in Vancouver at Hive studios and it was mastered by TJ Lipple in Washington.

It will be released on our new record label Wonky Karousel Records.

Pre-order here www.wonkykarousel.com or pick it up on the night. We may do some sort of bundle if that interests people?

The first teaser song 6.0 is streaming now on www.gimmebouts.com

Hope to see you there!

About the bands:

Women's Christmas formed in June 2013 to capitalize on the forthcoming Replacements reunion and possible accompanying wave of nostalgia for scrappy out-dated boozy alt-rock. Combining the toughness of Jogging, the heart of Villagers and the sissiness of No Monster Club (of which each of its members also belong to, respectively), Women's Christmas have tried to consistently rewrite The Thermals' one good song and inject it with the fuzzed out wonky joy of Ronald Jones-era Flaming Lips (1993 - 1996). Their 6-song EP will be released in very early 2014 (possibly on Women's Christmas!) and gigs will be few and far between until then, so don't miss this rare opportunity to come along and let them know they have failed in their modest mission.

I Heart The Monster Hero is winsome musical collage, a mash-up of primitive sounds that toe the line between lo-fi and no-fi but together manage to engender an instinctively hooking, bubbly sunshine pop. The rough, gleeful, quirk addled qualities of the band are sublimely showcased on "Toni Bailey", a synthetic, buoyant blast of distortion and sparkling chimes and "Little Gem", which, with its simple, slightly coarse guitar lines and layered vocals, will stick like velcro."
