Numbers are Eric (ex-Xerobot), Dave (ex-Xerobot),and Indra (also of Dynasty), a rock'n'roll trio formed in the fertile post-wealth post-rave San Francisco dot-bomb underground. They play fast primal punk disco beats, while trading detached boy/girl vocals back and forth amidst intermittent bursts of noisy guitar and fuzzed-out buzzerk bass. They cite influences (No Wave, Gang of Four, Kraftwerk, Wire) that sound typical enough, but Numbers chew these up and spit them back out in a musical manner that's all their own. Lyrically, Numbers embrace a shouted robotic minimalism, while taking on such weighty topics as consumerism, disease, fun, going to shows, and obsession. They have releases out on Tigerbeat 6 and Troubleman Unlimited and their latest album, "We're Animals" is on the mighty Kill Rock Stars
