O EMPEROR
The Sugar Club
26 November 2015.
O Emperor are delighted to announce a limited edition vinyl re-issue of their critically-acclaimed 'Lizard' EP on Trout Records this November. In support of the release, the band will be playing a headline date at Dublin’s Sugar Club November 26th.
Like its predecessor, the album 'Vitreous', 'Lizard' is an entirely self-recorded affair coming about over the space of a week's jamming at the band's "Big Skin HQ" in Cork City. The EP signals somewhat of a loosening of belt buckles and inhibitions. The reckless nature of the approach is audible throughout and the result is something truly bombastic; an unapologetic embrace of all that is garish and gaudy.
"Lizard is yet another affirmation of the brilliance of one of the country's best bands, and includes some of the band’s most engaging work thus far. If this is a stepping stone to something more or a hint of what’s to come on album three then it is a very exciting one."
Rating 10/10 (The Last Mixed Tape)
The band are currently recording their third album and will be showcasing snippets of this new material at their upcoming shows.
Tickets priced €17 (inc booking fee) go on sale this Friday, 14th August at 9am through www.ticketmaster.ie & usual outlets nationwide.
