Howya.

Im planning a new Irish music show on TV dedicated to new Irish bands, unsigned and otherwise, a magazine type show with live performances, features and a million other great things.

Anyways, it's early days and I need ways to convince RTE that there's an audience out there for this kind of show. I know there is but they might take some convincing.

Anyway, if anyone can give me info on how to find out the HWCH attendance for this year, etc, I can show the suits how many viewers, they're guaranteed....

Any other ideas on how to show em there's an audience?

You should ask the FMC about how many turned up at the HWCH.

As for pulling in an audience - get a nice looking girl to front the programme.

RTE tend to axe anything half good that they make like sampler or no disco.
i would try tv3 of tg4 before even bothering with RTE.

i spoke to the tv3 commissioners about this, they believe that there is not great market for this kind of thing. so you would have to be well armed with arguments and wonderful statistics/

they're really only likely to respond to a mixture of mainstream and independent.

Personally i think you should do a tv programme about 6 friends (3 male, 3 female) who live in the same apartment block, you could call it Buddies
