Well hello there friends, and a happy and peaceful new year to you all. We trust that everyone survived the Turkey fest? Good. While you were all knee deep in mistletoe and wrapping paper, we've been busy booking gigs, so here's what we have for you so far:
January 28th @ Temple Bar Music Centre.
Our first time in the Music Centre, and we're really looking forward to this one. Organised by our good friends GigSmart, this is a fundraiser for ISH magazine (www.ishmagazine.net), Ireland's newest and coolest music publication. Look our for features on New Colour Soul in the coming issues. Also appearing on the night are the excellent Sundogs and a special appearance from New Yorks finest Stand.
January 31st @ The Boom Boom Room
This new atmospheric and intimate venue is one of our favourites, and we have chosen it to showcase all of our new material, as well as the reworked older stuff. Come early to get a seat and witness the talent of Ciara Allen, a young singer songwriter who has been causing quite the stir wherever she plays. If you can only make one New Colour Soul gig this month, this will be an especially good one to go to. We'll be giving out free CD's too. Maybe!
February 21st @ The Sugar Club with Mike Got Spiked
Soft furnishings, table service, and an extensive cocktail list. Ah yes, the plush surroundings of the Sugar Club shall once again be graced by New Colour Soul. This is a special VIP night for GigSmarts organisers, and we are very proud to have been requested to play. They have kindly offered us a limited number of invitations to this show. Mail [email protected] for details. Slackers will pay ?10.
So, apart from that we're awaiting news from RTE about the TV show, writing a rake of new songs (come on the 31st to hear them ALL!), recording the album, and booking more gigs (watch out for UK dates soon). We'll have a single ready for release in March also, more on that when we have details.
