Time Out (London) has called Neil Halstead "one of Britain's greatest songwriters"; NME said he wrote "the kind of honest, heartfelt love songs men are too scared or too cool to write these days".
Currently based in Newquay, U.K, the singer and guitarist cut three albums with Thames Valley shoegazers Slowdive, before forming 4AD favourites Mojave 3 in 1995 .
Neil made his solo debut in 2002 with Sleeping On Roads. His latest album 'Oh Mighty Engine' has just been released on Brushfire Records.

YES!!! Deadly news. "Sleeping on Roads" is one of my all-time favourite albums, "See You on Rooftops" is the kind of thing Slowdive should have made and they might still be around... Can't wait for this.

He did a full Irish tour in 2002 did he not?
