Upsilon Acrux is an instrumental quintet now residing in Los Angeles, although originally the band is from San Diego County’s hotbed for hair metal singers known as Vista, California. The music is not easy to describe but attempts to do so regard it as esoteric, mathematical, athletic, noisy and brutal. UA continue to develop their uncompromising sound and intense live shows which have included such acts as The Boredoms, The Ruins, Mission of Burma, the Locust, Don Caballero,Dillinger Escape Plan, Anal Cunt, Crime in Choir, Hella, Marnie Stern, Grand Ulena, Yowie, Truman’s Water and Mick Barr.http://www.myspace.com/upsilonacrux

BATS
Formed in 2006 by complex molecules, BATS have been dispersing their audio seed throughout Ireland and the rest of Europe with fervent vigour. Their debut E.P ‘Cruel Sea Scientist’ was released in late 2007 to much critical acclaim, and soon after the leatherwings were signed to independent label The Richter Collective. Their blend of visceral but catchy post-punk/hardcore/metal and scientific musings has attracted a wide spectrum of fans that continues to grow steadily.

Much of 2008 was spent writing new material and performing live with such heavyweights as These Arms Are Snakes, The Locust, Liars, Sebadoh, Chrome Hoof and Gang Gang Dance. In March 2009 these dynamic mammals crossed the Atlantic to record their debut full-length, ‘Red in Tooth & Claw’, with Kurt Ballou (Converge) in Godcity Studios, located in the icy heart of Salem, Massachusetts.

SLURPS
slurps were all immaculately concepted to russian virgins and subsequently raised by timberwolves. they have been honing and developing their sound for almost 2000 years in northern china. they are probably best known for writing medieval floor filler "greensleeves" and kiddies birthday party favourite "happy birthday (to you)". sometimes reggae, sometimes doom metal, always industrial folk, they sound like somewhere between carly simon and bach. constantly drunk and usually blissed on heroin their (1) anarchic liveshows have been described as:

"relatively unembarrassing" - eoin dowling, civil servant

"good ideas, but you should have had a soundcheck and a practice" vinny walsh, the dole

"not my cup of tea, but you should keep plugging away" - man in toilet at the show.
