Here are the ingredients
I saw this around the turn of the eighties (I think) which means I was less than ten.. the memories are clear-ish.
The movie features Sting as a kind of angel or force of good in the world - he never speaks (I think).
It wasn't 'Brimstone and treacle'.
A memorable scene is where the main character gets on a London bus and everyone on the bus starts coughing their hoop up in a drawn out horrible scene.
Some other guy jumps out of a rose window in cathedral with a rope around his neck.
The whole thing is very dark and disjointed - made a huge impression on little me.
Does this ring any bells? - no sign of it in the Sting filmographies I've looked at.
