Hiya,
I'm thinking of doing an ep release soon and was considering using 80mm mini-cds. Has anyone here ever used them before?
What length of audio can you put on them? I figure if they're 185mb they'd have about 21 minutes of music. Are there any problems with them getting jammed in cd players etc or other disadvantages over standard cds?
thanks.

some cd players wont tke em
like car stereos that you slip the cd into...

they look cool tho'

and you can get em made up like business cards in a rectangle shape

Rusted Rail release stuff on 3inch cd. They hold 21 minutes of audio. Dinky format. All top loading/tray loading cd/dvd players have a 3inch indentation to allow them to play. And they look great!

Thanks for the replies folks. I really like the Rusted Rail stuff, especially So Cow :) Yeah i might go do a mini-cd release. I've only got about 20 minutes of daycent music anyway.

any mini-cds i have won't play on any of the 3 cd-players if have access to. also, there's a danger of them never coming out again if you put them into certain laptops. which i almost did once.....

3" cds look great.
have had the misfortune of getting one of those busines card size ones stuck in a car radio though...frustrating.

I've heard that business card cds will tend to jam in cd-roms, especially 40x etc but I didn't know that mini-cds were also prone to jam too.

Just out of curiosity, are they particularly old cd players or all of the same brand?

one, is ancient [a Dual] but the other two are pretty new. having said that, the newer ones are of the cheap generic brand variety. still, it's not a consistent state of affairs across the board, which is why i tend to avoid mini-cds, cool and all as they look.
