My self and the wan and the dog had the day off today so we decided to take the hound to the seaside for a bit of a salt water swim .On the way there we had to tow a pickup out of a river bed and a camper van out of a sand dune.
Then at the coast we got bitten about a million times by vampiric sand flies but we put up with it because we saw a pair of rare Hector's Dolphins swimming about 20 ft from the shore ( pretty much where the dog was swimming - I think he would have wet himself if he saw them behind him ).
We then left and found a nicer beach with no sand flies and found some [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pounamu"]pounamu[/ame]
on the beach .
We then drove home , stopping only for toasties and chips .
It was a lovely day.
