Race The Flux
Race the Flux are a four piece alternative rock band from Galway. They showcase a mature and commercially experimental sound in their current EP ‘Olympians’, which was recorded & mixed by Rocky O'Reilly (Oppenheimer, ASIWYFA, The Wonder Villains) at Start Together Studios, Belfast, is a follow up to the band's Debut LP 'Dutch Buffalo,a perfect blend of alternative rock with electronic influences released in June 2013, which received very positive reviews.
Their track ‘Olympus Mons’ has been used by the the Munster rugby team as their pitch entrance music for the 15/16 season. They have had a wealth of live experience supporting the likes of Tame Impala, And So I watch You From Afar, El Ten Eleven, The Redneck Manifesto, Alpha Male Tea Party & 100 Onces. They have also graced the stages of Ireland’s premier festivals such as Electric Picnic, Knockanstockan & Vantastival. They were also long listed for Glastonbury's Emerging Talent 2016. Their live show is simply, not to be missed.
Robocobra Quartet
Taking equal influence from hardcore, jazz & hip-hop, Robocobra Quartet's visceral improvisation-laden approach has garnered them a reputation as a compelling and challenging live act.
Bolstered by support from BBC Radio 6 and a sold-out limited-run 7" release on Smalltown America Records, 2016 will see the band performing dates throughout the UK, Ireland & Europe, followed by a 12" vinyl release funded by the PRS Foundation.
"A four piece that sound like no other." - Phil Udell, State.ie
"Robocobra Quartet are something extraordinary: a band who may be truly unique. " - Dani Charlton, Amazing Radio.
Onwards Upwards
Onwards Upwards are an instrumental rock band from Galway. Formed in 2014, they have since self-released and self-produced 2 EPs. Their first EP, "A New Beginning" was described as "driving hard rock rhythm furies surrounded by genre elements of ambient/metal and progressive" by forksterrocks.net, and recommended by Ben Sharp of Cloudkicker after their live video for "Our Crazy Night" released online. Their second EP, "Kore Kosmou", forays into a more technical, yet direct approach to their songwriting, intertwined with ambient layering to create a greater sense of atmosphere throughout.
