Male bias in baby ads (1 Viewer)

I'm not a parent, but I thought this would be the best place for this thread because you oul wans might be more aware of it.

I'm referring to the baby food/care ads which seem to always refer to male children and ignore female ones. Example: Danone (Turbo Immune System) Actimel. Not only is it always male kids featured in ads, but the voiceover also says things like "protect him" etc. Same goes for a lot of baby food ads i've seen like Cow and Gate et al.

Any of you parents noticed this/have an explanation for it?
 
Well they could hardly put "protect her and make her strong enough to, eh, get a man to do everything for her". !cheezy

Why not? They do the same thing with All Bran: "Eat this or you'll be an overweight, unattractive wagon of a yoke".
