IMRO SHOWCASE TOUR 2006

"Best of Tour" Showcase

Featuring Some The Best Emerging Acts From Ireland

Date: Saturday 3rd June
Venue: The Village, Wexford Street, Dublin 2
Time: 7:00pm (First Band 7:45pm)
MC: Dave Fanning
DJ Set | Holy Cow

Throughout May the IMRO Tour crisscrossed Ireland showcasing the collective
talents of some of the finest new Irish acts around. The Best of Tour
Showcase firmly puts the spotlight on a small selection of these acts.
The Tour has been instrumental in helping secure recording, publishing and
management contracts for a number of the bands who have participated on the
Tour over the years.

"Every band needs a leg up when starting out and the most consistent leg up
over the past 15 years has been the IMRO Showcase Tour. I know because I’ve
been involved with the Tour for a long time" Dave Fanning, RTÉ 2fm.

Many new Irish acts have played some of their first shows at the IMRO
showcase nights. Recent acts to appear on the tour include Declan O’Rourke
(V2), The Marshals (Faction Records / Universal), La Rocca (Chrysalis
Music), The Flaws (Universal), 8 Ball (Lakota Records), Leya (Rubyworks),
Mainline (Loog Records UK) and The Immediate (Fantastic Plastic Records UK).

The 2006 Tour is fully supported by RTÉ 2fm through the Dave Fanning, Dan
Hegarty, Jenny Huston and Cormac Battle evening shows.

was just typing the exact same thing!
its a terrible state of affairs.

Websites really give you an insight in to a band. Colours, artwork etc. Myspaces are all the same. I know you can have all that shit on myspace but the layout is all the same. Its too easy. A prime example of todays copy & paste generation. Down with this sort of thing.

I got my one with http://www.hostingireland.ie/ but they are kinda shit. It cost €35 for the year for parking and its really slow. Click on my signature to see what i mean. (if your browser blah blah blah) but you can get parkingand webspace pretty cheap from www.dd24.net

myspace hurts my eyes, horrible horrible layouts

yeah proper web hosting is not out of the reach of any band.
try hosting365.ie or anyone else
.ie cost a fortune and are on of the most expensive domains to get
.com are around 10 - 20 euro i think

also .ie you have to prove you have a calim on the domain name, so you cant get a site with just any name

A FRIEND OF MINE PLAYED AT ONE OF THESE THINGS IN VICAR STREET. ON KEYBOARDS. WHILE DRESSED LIKE A TROPICAL BUTCHER. THE PLACE WAS FULL OF HOT-PRESS HEAVIES AND LEATHER JACKETS. SOMEONE HAD A NINE-BAR AND COULDN'T CUT IT. WHEELS WAS THERE. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE.

THE WORST BAND WILL WIN.

IMRO ARE SAPS. FUCKIN' GIANT BALL SUCKIN' SAPS.

Delete from friends.

I normally wouldn't delete Irish bands, not sure why, I have this idea that I'll meet them on the street some day and they'll be all upset and bitchy with me "omg, you like totally deleted me as a friend!" or something.

But Indian, man they had to go. Within half an hour of deleting them, they sent me another fecking request. And their music....it ain't my cup of tea.

As for websites, not every band has a web designer mate who'll sort them out with a website for free. Also, too many bands have flash on their sites, that's annoying.

WHO CARES. ITS ALL A SCAM. THIS GOES RIGHT TO THE TOP. FUCKIN' FINGER ON THE BUTTON AND ALL THAT. IMAGINE PADDY CASEY IN A PUB BAND. IF IT AIN'T A CONTEST.. THAT'S A SHOCK. THERE'S USUALLY 'STUDIO TIME' OR SOMETHIN CRAP. A TRUCK OF BEER!!, NOW THAT'LL PUT SOME BALLS ON THE WHOLE DEAL. OR MAYBE ....NO THERE'S NO MAYBE.

QUANDO ME THIS, WHY AM I ARSED??
