currently digging both The Walking Dead and 30 Days of Night, looking for similar stuff (ie dark creepy stuff, horror/zombie/gore related stuff, that kinda thing)..any reccomendations? Are there any Irish comics along these lines I neeed to check out?

Ashley Woods Doomed is very good

a bit expensive though

Steven Niles churns out good horror comics at an incredible rate- see his 30 Days of Night and its sequels

The Thing From Another World
Aliens (up until Earth War)..first series especially was awesome

Mignola's Zombie World

Alan Moore's From Hell (best graphic novel ever)

there's some Clive Barker stuff too that's deadly

20,000 Leagues published a couple of Irish horror comics called "Sancho". They were a bit more 'jokey' than 'horror', but they're worth checking out. You can get them in that comic shop across the way from the entrance to Urban Outfitters. Also worth checking out, just for the sheer insanity of it, is Marvel Zombies, all about the Marvel superheroes being infected by a zombie plague. Awesome stuff, like a blockbuster version of Walking Dead.
