Family / heartstrings / non-offensive / every-trick-in-the-book / kids / merchandise.

also as much as I like most of these pixar etc films, what have these got in common:
Toy Story
Shrek
Ice Age
Fining Nemo
Monsters Inc
Antz
etc

a: every one of them has the same story!
Less nerds with compters, more nerds with typewriters.

In fairness, it's the basis of most kid's movies (not just CG ones). And now they're at least trying to do something different with The Incredibles.
