One of my external HDs seems to be a bit fucked. Suddenly it is unrecognisable. Ok that's a problem but not the end of the world. Thing is Disc Utility isn't able to reformat it, I'm getting an error saying Disc Utility is unable to allocate memory.
Anyone know anything about this? Is there another programme I can use to reformat this disc or is it dead. Not that worried about retrieving the data from the drive.

is it one you use a lot? or have you just switched it on after not using it for a while? i had a hard drive that used to overheat, and all of a sudden the computer would recognise it. a day switch off saw it right.

Carbon Copy Cloner has a good utility - Or just try mounting it on another 'puter

Say 3 Hail Marys & 2 Our Fathers to the Patron Saint of Hard Disk tonight & try your luck tomorrow.
