where can i get a dry ice machine? is it much different from a fog machine? are there any dangers? (i.e. ruin carpets, kill people, etc) what kinda lights compliment it?

Any sound or lighting hire shop should have one. Strobe lights.

I don't know much about dry ice machines but wouldn't running out of dry ice be a bit of a big problem?

Ya can't get your hands on dry ice anywhere in Ireland...

i've been told dry ice is really hard to get without a really good excuse (like its for industry or whatever and you'll need some proof or something, a big party or exhibition doesn't cut it)
but smoke machines are cheap enough, i've got some from sounds around on capel street and maplins before. thomann ones are a bit cheaper and probably better quality, but i wouldn't bother unless you needed an expensive one/one that will last for ages because you'll end up paying for shipping on things less than 100 or 200 or whatever the limit is. if you're planning on using one for gigs or parties or whatever, bare in mind that they almost always set off smoke alarms and so they're usually unusable in public spaces or places that need to keep their alarms hooked up
