Dragged into Sunlight

After playing with the likes of Thou, Atavist, Moloch and Altar of Plagues, these UK metallers will be bringing their savage brand of doomed-out black metal to Cork for the first time. Utterly filthy, hopelessly dark and crushingly heavy. This will no-doubt be an amazing show.

For fans of any of the above mentioned bands and, indeed, all kinds of heavy filth.

This Weary Hour

It's been a busy year for TWH. Having had the pleasure of joining Thou and Altar of Plagues on two of the dates of their Irish tour, the band proceeded to release their latest EP, No Hand to Comfort You, in July. This was celebrated with a three-date Irish stint, led by the awesome De Novissimis. Describing their music as doom-influenced atmospheric sludge, check this out if you enjoy the likes of Isis, Cult of Luna, Cathedral and Neurosis.

On Pain of Death

OPoD have really made a name for themselves in doom circuits since their inception in 2008. Churning-out slow, twisted, sludgy doom, it's easy to believe that these purveyors of filth hail from what they call "the boggiest of the boggy depths of Ireland." Definitely one of the better bands in the Irish underground metal scene today.

Molde

Molde are a very new band from Cork. Founded by Ollie O'Shea (Dominus, ex-For Ruin) and featuring the incredible Barrytron on drums, Ollie's intention was to create black metal that infused elements of the type of atmospherics Neurosis are famous for. This will be one of the band's very first shows.

Excellent Night....my body and brain are in Hurtsville at the moment, but well worth it....Molde were great, for a first time playing together they nailed it fairly good....This Weary Hour were also on top form, as usual...and Dragged Into Sunlight were a fitting send off for the night, as someone said earlier the set flew by, seemed like they were on and off in 10mins flat...would definately recommend checking them out if you get the chance....goat skulls...dry ice...candles...what more could ya want :)
