Anyone know anything about Korg Polysixes (1 Viewer)

Hello

Got a Polysix today. It aint working.

When I turn it on, all of the lights stay on (ie the program lights, tape enabler lights, key assign etc... all of them). There is no sound out of the keyboard even though there is clearly nothing wrong with the output (there is a hum from the amp when i crank up the volume full).

It seems to be stuck in a kind of "standby" mode. Disabling the tape write does nothing either. I've tried everything I can think of. Any ideas?

are you comfortable opening it up?

i bet it's just the connection between the keys and the board has come loose inside
it's like an old computer ribbon looking fucker that links them..

maybe, but the LEDs shouldn't all be on a the same time...

opening it up looks like the way forward. could be that famous polysix battery problem. have you got screwdrivers and shit at your gaff?

Yeah I think I'm going to have to open the fucker up. At least then I'll know if the battery has leaked. Gah.

I have some ideas thanks to some friendly nerds on synth messageboards though.
