Raw, powerful, and a little bit dirty, Brooklyn rock duo She Keeps Bees make the kind of music that resonates straight to your bones. Jessica’s slow-burning scold of a voice and visceral guitar hooks blend perfectly with the primal wallop of Andy’s drumming. With influences as varied and bad-ass as Jimi, Millie, Chaka, and Patti - this band knows how to bring it.

“Laced with the gawky cool of a young Cat Power, Larrabee douses further comparisons in primal blues washed direct from the Mississippi delta. 'Gimmie' holds attention like a spell, and the long before the possessed closing handclaps of 'Ribbon' evaporate, it's plainly obvious that impact this filthy renders personal hygiene a trifling concern.” - Adam Kennedy - NME September 2009

“Larrabee’s voice and songwriting style bring some truly stellar vintages to mind (Nina Simone, Cat Power, Patti Smith, even Janis Joplin), yet she and LaPlant succeed in keeping all these wonderfully bad-ass sounds, down-at-heel woozy blues, gritty explosions and sexy, yearning hooks from simply aping what’s gone before. Tracks such as the gnarly Gimmie and the super-charged Release keep you riveted to the stereo. Nests really is just like honey.” Jim Carroll - IRISH TIMES - April 2009

CDs, DVDs & Books market

From 8pm to 10pmish there will be a market; anyone is allowed come along and bring up to 50 things to sell. There is an arbitrary quality control element to this (please no tat), but in essence it’s welcome to all. There’s no initial charge, and you can charge what you want, but once you’ve made 50 quid, we will take 10 euro. This is on an honesty basis, so please don’t’ fuck around on this.

e-mail [email protected] to book a table.

Fairtrade Coffee, Tea and Cake Stall

It being a school night and all, we will have the option of having a cup of nice coffee/tea and cake. It’ll be €2.50 for a cuppa and a slice. How bad.
