Got a thing saying that the site detected i was using an ad blocker. I'm pretty sure I'm not, don't recall using one anyway.

They are something of a distraction but it they need to be there then fair enough. HOWEVER the reason for this post is to say that I do welcome the fact that they're not the type of down the side ad where the whole ad is a link and accidentally clicking on it takes you to a new site.
