What movie did you watch last night?

The Jennifer Lawrence one? God yeah, so bad. Just hollow, nothing to say, nothing to think. Like the premise of a computer game without the shooting your way out of it bit that makes up 99% of the fun.

What movie did you watch last night?

The whole thing is a metaphor for, emm, the plight of elderly soccer players?

What movie did you watch last night?

OSCAR NOMINATED An Cailín Ciúin/ The Quiet Girl I had completed forgotten what happened in Foster because I read it like 8 years go or something but I remember feeling this moved by it as well. Never falls into over-sentimentalization or melodrama. NO PLOT THOUGH LADS. No Nazis, guy doesn't...

Just seeing this. People read a Will Menekar post about Ireland and thought he was serious? Man, I HAVE been off twitter for a while. anyway, in regards the other thread, this Slate piece now appears to be the official Irish person online opinion on the film...

Really enjoyed The Wonder. I defo think it could have been better, but that'd probably involve making it do what I wanted it to do, and say what I think is important. So on its own terms it was really good.

Oh, this reminds me, i never finished all my Disney reviews in this thread, we at very least got through the 90s before being confronted with fucking Fantasia 2000 which we can't bring ourselves to watch

My only complaint is that it was really, really long for no good reason. Chalamet's hair did not disappoint. I preferred it to The Big Short, which I found obnoxious.

What movie did you watch last night?

At a guess, my "I didn't hate Don't Look Up" opinion is about as popular as my "I didn't hate Joker" opinion.

lol I can't tell when you're doing a bit or not, you were very clear from your first post but then you kept clarifying to say the same thing. I mean, you're still cancelled but sure so are the rest of us.

Finally got around to seeing Dune. Liked it quite a bit, certainly more than I thought I would. Just made me want to go back and read the book again though because it also felt quite rushed, just as we're getting used to the very basics of the world that has been built the plot starts rushing...

Yes, yes but how is Timothée Chalamet's haircut?

What movie did you watch last night?

Hmm, I know what you mean but I was ok with it as it was. It's a pretty thin story as it is so stretching it out over a number of episodes could be a bit much imho, I don't need to know the detailed back story behind every person he met, I just accept them as characters.

Finally got around to watching the Green Knight, I really enjoyed it. Was glancing through some of the criticism of it and a lot of it seems to boil down to "It's not the same story as this 14th century manuscript."

What movie did you watch last night?

Part 3: One Hundred and One Dalmatians: I had a memory of this being underwhelming due to the lack of tunes in it but no, absolutely classic. Cruella De Vil rules and needs no backstory. Amazing animation style. The Sword in the Stone: Rubbish. Tries to have fun with various side characters...

I couldn't believe how bad La La Land was when I saw it. I, at the very least, expected there to be a coherent storyline but it's just a bunch of homages to old films, one after the other. Utterly vacuous, and you can just watch the old films if you want to see good singing and dancing not held...

What movie did you watch last night?

I just remember thinking "Turns out.... the point of the film is that this is No Country for Old Men FFS" which was largely missing the point but hey I was, like, 22 and have never been much of a film buff.
