What you been listening to this week?

Only noticed this now. Nearly everything I've heard by Francois de Roubaix is great. His late 60's to mid 70's soundtracks are a perfect mix of lush cinematic French and avant garde musique. Pity he died in his thirties. I've been meaning to buy his records for years... Francois gets bonus...

Turkish superstar BARIS MANCO - Ahmet Beyin Ceketi (1988) By this time Baris had transitioned into being a popular TV presenter. The first part of his show featured Baris interacting with kids and then he'd do a bit of a travelogue. With all his charisma Baris seemed to do both effortlessly...

    Black Sabbath Paris 1970

Black Sabbath live in Dumfries 16 November 1969. This was recorded by a guy from local band Iron Claw. From 6:26 to 17:19 is a drum solo with some flute playing by Tony. This was recorded not long after first LP sessions. Is this the first recorded Sabbath gig??

Many thanks therealjohnny! I asked about Seeing Things on Thumped years ago and drew a blank. Yer man looks exactly as I remember him. My memory wasn't too bad. 2nd episode of first series: Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seeing_Things_(TV_series)

What was that was the variety show were they dressed up like Pierriot clowns at the end? I think Leo Sayer was involved. Another one was a US drama 1980-81 on RTE. A nerdy guy with a 'tasche would have premonition a murder was about to happen. It promptly would. Then after he would get more...

This is funny - only just realised... When Paret-Peintre won yesterday I couldn't figure out why they kept calling him Valentin. I coulda swore he was called Aurelien?! Despite the fact both bros had won Giro stages I didn't realise them was two of 'em. Haha

I'll try and remember the Ozzy for first six Sabbath albums (Don't really like Technical Ecstacy or Never Say Die that much). Symptom of The Universe is my favourite Sabbath tune. Whatever about the Villa concert, (which I didn't pay much attention too) Sharon had often put him through worse.

Amazingly Patrick's job at the Tour is to paint over things painted on the road like giant penises. But what Patrick paints over 2/3 of the way through the clip didn't go unnoticed in the comments.

Pity. Ventoux stage is a huge prize. And Paret-Pantre's (sic) team mate Van Wilder catching back up with leaders and then riding on front until last few hundred metres swung it for P-P. People Who Died

Nice tribute to Joey. Wrexham had their best ever team in late 70's / early 80's and spent 5 seasons in Division 2. Joey was far too good for that level but he loved Wrexham and was probably the outstanding player in the club's history with 479 games. Joey is well remembered by Liverpool fans...
