They don't last though. I have old tapes from the late 80's I know if I was to play them they would sound like shit and or probably disintegrate.

Leinster U20 Final last night in Portlaoise: Offaly v Dublin. @ 31:37 Offaly go 6 points ahead and hundreds of kids come on the pitch. Great biased Offaly commentary: Co-commentator Stephen: ''Ah, get in off the field lads!''. ''I knew that was going to happen''. (Stephen mumbles) "fuck"...

I have it from a very reliable source that the govt policy rn is to make Ireland no more nor less attractive than other EU countries to asylum seekers. ATM they feel like we're more attractive, so they're adjusting. Two examples of people ending up here at the end of a chaotic random journey...

I'm going to buy a record player...................

I've bought tapes every year for over thirty years too. Same thing as records: tapes never went out of fashion in some circles. Ordered three new tapes the other day. I bought an entry level Pioneer stereo double cassette separate (made in 2002) about 5 years ago on eBay from UK for less then 70...

It's a good quote Best I can tell is the dole thing is a signal to voters that we are no longer come-one-come-all. It's optics more than it is policy. People (voters) are pissed off with the tents, partly because it feels like no one's in control and there is no policy. If we let fewer...

Each to their own and all, but I wake up pretty much every day grateful that I have a body that works, I'm not hungover, and I have a whole day to enjoy being alive. Everything else is gravy. But gravy is great.

The couple of sepsis people I know either suffered it pre-covid or were on the road to it anyway. Both were seemingly innocuous, a bad tooth, a bad knee, otherwise fine. Both times the doc said "you'll be dead in a week if we don't deal with this right now". Scary. I'm gonna go on an uninformed...

I think we have a strong inclination to make up stories in our heads, with ourselves as the main character, and then try to make the stories real. There's no way to not do this, but if you let the stories get too big or too important to you then it's very easy to get hung up on what you don't...

I think they're useful for measuring the relative level of corruption in different countries - that site has details of how they're measuring it here. There'll never be no corruption, but we're doing pretty well relative to most of the world (and even most of the EU). Brown envelopes are not...
