Ok peeps

Let's hope I fare better with this thread than I did with the Belfast one (No sniggering Sexypornolady).

Right - Mrs Pickle and I are heading to Valencia for 5 nights at the end of June/early July. Looking for a nice central hotel; nothing too fancy.
Also would consider renting an apartment.

I'd very much appreciate any recommendations.

Hmmmm, I really have to holiday in more interesting and exotic locales. Ok how about this:
I'm planning on cycling from Fermoy on a unicycle to the Burning Man festival in Nevada in aid of St Mary's Hospital for Sick and Injured Children.
Has anyone been? Done anything like this? Can you advise me of the best possible routes?
Many thanks

One of the best ways to find good accomodation in any city is to go to tripadvisor.com.

Then, type in your destination city and hit search.

Click on your city on the list, then scroll down to *city* Hotel Recommendations.

Click 'View all *city* hotels'. Then under the Hotels tab, you can select an average price to suit you, and sort by tripadvisor popularity.

This is a great way to find highly rated hotels within your budget, and a lot of the hotels that show up are not available through expedia or hotels.com etc, so you just google their webpage and book direct.

Found a great hotel in Paris for €70 a night this way, would have paid far more for the dodgy lowest priced places on hotels.com etc.

Thanks for that Crowbar - It's a site I'm well aware of and does throw up some great stuff. Our problem is that the Americas Cup is on in Valencia (I didn't know what this was till a week ago!!) so accomodation is proving difficult to find!!

@travispickle or anyone else have any advice on areas to stay, places to go and things to see in Valencia?

planning a visit next month for a weekend and in case my native friend isnt about, ill need some pointers.
Crikey; I barely remember that trip now! I know we were staying near the port and spent lots of time on the beach.
I know someone who's dating a local though, so can ask him for you.
