FIXITY is an experimental music project led by Composer/Drummer Dan Walsh who is from Cork, Ireland. The tunes are explored in collective improvisation with a fluid cast of musicians from various fields of intrigue.
Fixity released a Double LP on Penske Recordings in December 2016 entitled "The Things In The Room" featuring Saxophonist Emil Nerstrand, Guitarist Nils Andersson and Fredrik Persson. The double LP was recorded in a single evening at the historic Tambourine Studios in Malmo, Sweden. Since the release of "The Things In The Room" Fixity has continued to expand on the impossibility of stillness in repetition, with an increasing network of collaborators and their welcome voices.
Fixity's second LP "No Man Can Tell" was released in 2019. Produced with the Altered Hours’ Patrick Cullen, the album features an extended ensemble of Irish and International musicians collectively interpreting Walsh’s compositions by characteristically ambitious and future-focused means.
Alongside these larger releases, Walsh has been producing a series of self-titled and numbered solo recordings since 2015 representing a catalogue of new compositions and personal explorations. FIXITY 7 was released on cassette in late 2021.
Meabh McKenna
Utilising the harp, voice, electronics and percussion, Méabh McKenna is a multi-instrumental sound artist based in Dublin city. Drawing on years of experimentation and collaboration, her live performances have evolved from traversing the eclectic worlds of traditional, classical, and early music, intuitively weaving them with contemporary and electronic elements.
Her solo project forges a soundworld of mycelial improvisation and memory, connecting the ancient with the futuristic to make a music of resonance and reflection that’s entirely her own.
Black Coral
Black Coral is the solo project of Cian "Moose" Megannety. With Black Coral he explorers the depths of low frequency immersive drones and science fiction soundscapes.
Cian is a Dublin based musician and bespoke instrument and musical effects maker. Cian has run the musical instrument/effects business Moose Electronics for the past decade working with many national and international musicians. Cian plays bass guitar and bass synth in Wild Rocket, Creepy Future and BB84 covering psychedelic punk rock, through to experimental electronics, releasing multiple albums to critical acclaim.
