I wonder do Brazilian record shops have a section where The Beatles, Bollywood soundtracks and assorted noseflutes are lumped in together.

Is reggae world music? Is Jacques Brel? Are The Dubliners? I'm confused.

Has anyone heard this one? It sounds intriguing:

I had a look at the wikipedia page when I saw this thread and apparently Reggae is not World music. I can see the Dubliner's being lumped in, maybe not Jacques Brel though.

These are some good blogs of this sort of thing:

You know what? They actually do - they mostly have 'International' sections which bascially encompass all western rock, pop, R&B, whatever else. But they'll have a separate metal section most of the time.

manu chao can f*** right off.

I've been thinking about it and I've never actually listened to Clandestino. I like the guitar on the song 'King of The Bongo'. It must have been some kind of mind control I was under when I posted it. I have the album in my collection, but I've never listened to, although I keep meaning to. Strange.

The other two albums are really good though.

ARTHUR VEROCAI - Na Boca do Sol.
