hey feens n queens,
really enjoyed the last workshop - thanks to everyone who came!
had loadsa compliments bout the music albert played so have asked him to play again. both he and the lovely sweet oblivion mentioned playing a bit o jazz so as the poster says...
and after jim had a reek at me over not playing at the last one he has graciously agreed to play some tunes, but not loads of them in a row or anything like that ;)
hope some of you can make it!

is workshop just the name or is there more to it than meets the eye?

is workshop just the name or is there more to it than meets the eye?

short answer: yep, just a name.

long answer: my housemate pointed out some people might actually think its a workshop but yeah. its a nod of sorts to the berlin based house label of the same name http://www.discogs.com/label/Workshop ...each release is numbered and some have a few different producers on them. i like that idea of different people chipping in to make something like that, and liked the idea of a few different people playing a range of stuff that all fits together somehow over the course of a night. also workshop 6 was one of my fave records of last year, er, 2008 even... so id like to get to number 6 at least :)
(and i couldnt think of another name...)

also for the last one people played individual sets, this time we're just gonna play a few tracks each and rotate for the 6 hours. see where that takes us..

is there anything like this these days in dubland?

i dont think so..? theres a job for ya oooterz :)

this shindig is tomorrow... IF we survive daniel wang tonight
in an unusual display of preparedness, i have a bag sorted. loadsa m's...
monolake, mvo trio, maurizio, move d, mark e, mark du mosch (im sure the overload ep should be played at 45 but it sounds great at 33), mark pritchard...
there might be some cakes as well, mmm
