Hope Collective presents The return of We Shall Overcome festival sees the last mile (montreal), parker (derry) and chimers (australia) live on stage in a benefit for Aoibhneas Domestic Support for Women and Children.
Tickets available here https://www.eventbrite.ie/.../we-shall-overcome-2022-with...
The Last Mile are from Montreal and write songs that are rooted in melody and angst, love/hate and an unwavering hope. Their latest record "Respect The Frequency" came out on Little Rocket records in the UK (label of Leatherface amongst many others).
Parker are from Derry. They have just released their debut single Never Miss. It's a glorious pop punk fuzzy noise.
Chimers are a couple based in New South Wales. The guitarist is originally from Kilkenny (and played in punk legends Cheapskate). They are paying a long awaited family visit and while here are going to delight us with their garage, noise hardcore sound.
The event comes under the We Shall Overcome Banner. Since May 2015 We Shall Overcome organisers have run more than 1100 events in 150 different towns and cities worldwide, raising an estimated £675,000 worth of food, cash, clothing, bedding, furniture and electrical goods for those struggling. This event is a benefit for Aoibhneas Domestic Support for Women and Children.
Hope Collective have been involved in putting on diy events and publications since 1980's monochrome Dublin. Previous gigs include bands like Fugazi, Babes In Toyland, Therapy?, NoMeansNo, Green Day, Jawbreaker and a legion of others listed here https://hopecollectiveireland.com/blogs/hope/gigs/
