Aiken, DCC agree matinee deal for Brooks concerts - RTÉ News

A deal worked out between Aiken Promotions and Dublin City Council would involve two matinees on the Saturday and Sunday of the proposed Garth Brooks concert series.

The Saturday and Sunday matinees would take place between 2pm and 6pm, with the night-time concerts from 8pm to 11pm.

Surely that's an even worse resolution to the problem. 160,000 people milling around Croke Park. Getting those 80,000 out from the matinee and the other 80,000 in for the night-time gig, that sounds like a logistical nightmare. Are enough hotel rooms going to materialise in the meantime to cope with the potential 80k of extra people around Dublin per day?
