SUDDYN

Chart topping rock band SUDDYN began their assault on the Irish music scene just over a year ago. In this short time, SUDDYN's epic rock anthems with a compelling combination of edgy guitar driven rock, broody melodic piano arrangements and soulful lyrics have made quite an impact.

The SUDDYN journey began with the release of their debut single "Drowning Souls". "Drowning Souls" was a top ten hit for 2 consecutive weeks peaking at No.8 making SUDDYN one of the Best Selling Unsigned Acts in Ireland! The popularity of "Drowning Souls" was cemented when it became a worldwide selling ring tone! A spot in NME’s Top 20 Breaking Bands 2006 swiftly followed this success. SUDDYN also scored a prestigious place on Record of the Day’s featured artists.

SUDDYN's latest release "Gravity" has currently spent 4 weeks in the Irish Charts garnering widespread airplay and creating quite the buzz. Media support for SUDDYN's drowned in sound anthem "Gravity" has literally been groundbreaking! “Gravity” has so far been added to the playlist at 2 Fm, Spin 103.8 Fm, 98 Fm, 104 Fm, Spin South West and Radio Kerry to name a few! The single is accumulating a significant number of daytime plays from such iconic radio stations as 2 fm and has already reached the dizzying heights of the radio airplay charts!!

SUDDYN have played over 70 shows since Feb 06 in the company of great bands such as Boy Kill Boy, Shiny Toy Guns, The Films, Larrikin Love, Director and The Blizzards to name just a few. This year has been really heating up on the front for SUDDYN with invitations to perform at such prestigious events as Phantasm, Murphy's Live and MCD presentations. SUDDYN have also been busy blazing a trail through this year's music festivals!

This band epitomizes what can be accomplished with a bit of blood sweat and tears on the battlefield and have won over an army of fans and the hearts of the critics in the process.

Didn't one of the suddyn guys post here for a while? Fun times.

there was a review of this lot's ep or album or something on entertainment.ie a few months ago that just said 'complete shite'. it was taken down after a while though, yer man's enormous forehead must have made a complaint

Probably more satisfying than the songs Suddyn have on their myspace, my ears now require intensive cognitive behavioural therapy to get over it

THE KANYU TREE

Introducing The Kanyu Tree: a three-piece Irish band from Galway, comprising the Cluskey brothers - Daniel (guitar and vocals), Shane (drums and lead vocals) and Oisin (bass and vocals). The band has been in operation since mid 2006, and their original music has already drawn tributes such as:

"The Kanyu Tree sound like the best bits of Teenage Fanclub, The Beach Boys, Big Star and The Doobie Brothers and play beautiful and catchy pop tunes layered with close vocal harmonies. You'll love them!" - Róisín Dubh / Gugai

"The Kanyu Tree deal in some of the most exquisite harmony vocals we've heard since the Bee Gees... This is classy stuff that brings a touch of sunshine into these bleak Autumn days." - Hotpress, Jackie Hayden

"Thank goodness for The Kanyu Tree, a power pop trio whose sunshiny songs have their feet firmly on the bright side of the road" - Connacht Tribune

"The Kanyu Tree have to be saluted for their efforts in the field of jazzy hit-making" - In Dublin

"Smart pop sounds coupled with strong vocals" - Galway Independent

"A scrumptious combination of funky grooves, heavenly harmonies and up tempo riffs..." - Sin Magazine

"The Kanyu Tree's songs are an appealing mix of vocal harmonies and smart pop" - Galway Advertiser

"The Kanyu Tree is one of Ireland's most exciting new groups" - Limerick Leader

Since they began gigging last year, The Kanyu Tree has played many headliners and also shared the stage with some top Irish acts such as The Stunning, The Saw Doctors, The Blizzards and The Republic of Loose, and various international acts including The Bluetones and I’m From Barcelona. They have received rave reviews in prestigious venues throughout Ireland - The Róisín Dubh, Cypress Avenue, The Olympia, Dolan’s Warehouse and The Spring and Airbrake Club. 2007 saw them headlining the Féile Beo Festival, Kerry along with being selected for the IMRO Showcase Tour.

The Kanyu Tree's debut single 'Tanglewood' reached no. 17 in the Irish (September 2007) charts. They have just concluded a three week support tour with the Saw Doctors around the UK playing venues such as The Philharmonic, Liverpool, The Manchester Apollo, Glasgow Barrowlands and Shepherd's Bush Empire, London
