...I saw it last night. And I really enjoyed it. It didn't turn into complete !cheezy Jack Black has a gift. You indie kids need to watch this film and learn how to Rock, no crybabies. .|..| etc .|..| etc.

With Mike White writing and Richard Linklater directing it was always going to be at least passable. I thought it was pretty great even though some of the jokes seemed to fall a bit flat.

Mike White has done so much good stuff. Not only has he wrote School of Rock, the great Orange County and the frankly unnerving Chuck and Buck but he also did some Freaks and Geeks.

'freaks and geeks' is the greatest tv show ever - they're kinda self releasing a dvd boxset of it. they've got all the original music too! i didn't know he had anything to do with 'school of rock' and didn't know it was richard linklater until like the day before. that's killer - "spazzy mcgee" - i shouldn't find that funny

Orange County was pretty cool. Although Colin Hanks looks more like Matthew Broderick than Tom Hanks, which made me uncomfortable. And Catherine O Hara looked ragged in it.
