Practice Space benefit gig / Lower Deck / 11th June (1 Viewer)

benefit gigs are nearly always the same price , just the bands/sound technician/venue, or all three do it for free .. theres about 15 of dublins bands using the karate club as well as a screenprint group, Anarchist Black Cross, and other collectives..
why is doing a benefit for a resource space for our scene a questionable idea?

hey folks, i don't think the pete was questioning a benefit, just looking for a bit more info and context in terms of glasnost and inclusion. the original post didn't mention the name of the practise space or how bands who are just starting out and don't know anyone could use it if they wanted to find a super-cheap place to practise, for example.
so someone MIGHT look at the post and think... why would i want to support a benefit for a space for some kids i don't know to hang out in?... but now we all know it's a collective space where shitloads of different bands can create moosic and add to the diversity of the irish diy scene, art space and political groups can meet too.
Cool é sin. i hope it was a great night!
