I read that and it came across more as an endorsement for the Pono. Sure, you probably don't need something that good, but other than 2 days a year you don't need heated seats in your car, yet lots of people have them.

Even if the human ear isn't capabable of picking up on the high quality of the sound, the fact that this could be as good as things get as regards a digital audio player, could prove a major selling point.

He has my interest captured now anyway.

And I also want a toblerone.

Well the iPhone is a tough competitor for the Pono. I think any high end phone like that is more or less going to be on par or maybe even a bit better than a good DAP not to mention apple has been makeing there own players for some time. I like these just music gadgets myself tough because im not hugely into phones.

If you want your head wrecked try the philips golden ears test. I got as far as silver grade on skull candys. Would need studio cans to pass i'd say.
