This is a Cheebah/Kerrynini joint, more similar yet different things to follow. Eugh.

Parisian-based Onra is one of the major players in the new wave of upcoming producers à la Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Bullion and so on. The former Red Bull Music Academy student is a beat-digging, MPC-bashing producer and DJ who looks to the boombap past to sculpt the future funk sounds of tomorrow. His neck snapping electronic hiphop / wobbling schizo beats sit side by side with forays into continental soul and disco, and have been subject to enormous worldwide props from Dublin to LA. 2007s 'Chinoiseries' album rocked a different slant, sampling only the sounds he plucked from some obscure records he uncovered while on holiday in Vietnam and China. The album did big things, the single 'The Anthem' genuinely deserving its title. Anyways, if you don't know… now you know! Onra - A true Parisian bboy who can even make the backpackers dance.

The man who sells the drinkies in the bar tells me that they'll be giving away 100 free CDs on the night. Its a compilation job of tracks selected by various disc jockey types around Limerick, with a cover and all. Big up the Phil.

Might be one or two other chaps spinning records on the night as well. This is a bar gig with bar times and Onra will be stepping up early rather than later.
